Family Law Solicitor

As a family law solicitor, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, parenting, property settlements, and domestic violence cases. You should have a strong understanding of family law legislation and excellent communication skills to effectively advocate for our clients.

ABOUT YOU

  • You’re an experienced family lawyer with 3+ years of experience and you have a compassionate approach to helping families navigate the separation journey
  • Hold a current NSW and High Court practising certificate.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to use web conferencing applications such as Teams and Zoom
  • Representation of clients at family dispute resolution conferences
  • Experienced in drafting documents to be filed in the FCFCOA
  • Experienced in appearing before the FCFCOA for hearings
  • You genuinely want to work as part of a team to reap the benefits of collaboration and enjoy having a bit of fun
  • You pride yourself on your ability to work autonomously for maximum efficiency
  • You ultimately share our mission to have a positive impact on people going through a separation so they can live their best life going forward
  • Are accustomed to meeting KPIs and set budgets with clear and concise time recording on files.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills.

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES

  • Demonstrated experience in running interim hearings and/or contravention hearings.
  • Experienced in briefing and instructing counsel for complex matters and final hearings.
  • Qualified Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner is highly desirable.
  • Resilience in dealing with complex and challenging matters.
  • A focus on resolving matters without litigation where possible.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Living in the Central Coast area.
  • Experience in other related areas of law, including estates and property. 

REMUNERATION

Wages will be initially determined accordingly to demonstrated skills and experience. For the first 12 months a review will then be conducted at 3 monthly intervals, thereafter each 12 months, to ensure that the successful candidate is remunerated appropriately.

HOURS

Our office hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. We are open to a variation of these hours to accommodate your personal or parenting needs.

Law Clerk - 2 days per week

As a law clerk, you will assist solicitors in drafting documents for family law matters, including divorce, parenting, property settlements, and domestic violence cases. You are studying law and you have experience using Microsoft Office.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have commenced studying law and have completed at least 2 years of tertiary qualification in law.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Desire to develop drafting skills.
  • You pride yourself on your ability to problem solve.
  • You ultimately share our mission to have a positive impact on people going through a separation so they can live their best life going forward.
  • Are accustomed to or willing to meet KPIs.

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Living in the Central Coast area or willing to travel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Desire for career progression in family law, estate planning and property.

REMUNERATION

Wages will be initially determined in accordance with the Legal Services Award at the appropriate level dependent on skills and experience. For the first 12 months a review will then be conducted at 3 monthly intervals, thereafter each 12 months, to ensure that the successful candidate is remunerated appropriately.

HOURS

Our office hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Role requires 2 days per week at the Office.
